Having one of those nights were I can't stop thinking about absolutely nothing. We move to Germany tomorrow, I'm praying my e90 sells on the lot before too long, I miss my dogs but Germany won't allow pitbulls, and I really need to sleep. So naturally I've been digging though old BookFace pictures of stupid ideas I had, like some sad little kid. Ah well. Mobile won't allow multiple pics, so I'll just post my s14 when I finally got the rb20 running well enough to turn the lights on and it wouldn't kill itself. RIP to that poor chasis, the previous owner destroyed the electrics beyound repair. Ah well the RB AND the KA we built both ended up with good, sideways owners. I shall comment with the Audi I sold to finance the build, (terrible idea) a funny picture, (I think it's funny, that suit gets heavy.) And the DC Audio 12's I had in the e90. Maybe after all that work I'll be tired. Stupid mobile.

Where to? I was stationed in Darmstadt (closed 2008) while my wife bounced between Rhein-main and ramstein while we were dating. I attended UMUC and CTC so I've visited pretty much every base there. Miss the hell out of it.

PS: how "pit" does your dog look? Mine is listed as a "Chocolate Lab Mix" on all her vet paperwork. Army Vet Corp was glad to accommodate the "smudging" of the lines - amazing what happens when you deal with people who don't buy into negative stereotypes and understand when breeds don't deserve black-balling, only examples,of bad dogs (of any breed). Pic is of her at the Vet last month. Pits are a helluva dog, I'd be heartbroken without mine. Some pits look too distinct to fudge the paperwork though.

PPS: why didn't you ship the E90 with you? Or do you have a "better" car (ie family van) that made more sense?

Well least you'll be in Germany...does everyone get to have a stint in Germany? I feel like its a right of passage like every Army person I've talked of any age has gone to Germany for some while, owned some obscure autobahn stormer like an Alpina or AMG or classic Porsche then be aggrivatingly modest about the whole thing like "Meh it was pretty cool. I dunno I guess Lamborghini's are cheap there..."

Nice intercooler, I am most upset about the dog. So much so I might have to facebook post it an then my dog crazy lady friends can get really pissed about it too. My friend's wife's Field Artillery brother went to Germany and had to leave his pitty and ridgeback behind. That is inconceivable prejudice.

We will be in baumholder, and we both can't wait. Between the travel and the cars it's going to be awesome.

But yea the pups are very pit. Easily the most cuddly and loving dogs I have ever had, rex (the black one) will straight up like a baby to make it feel better if it crys. We almost lost the brindle (Dug) a month ago from a stomach blockage, so it's fairly depressing to have to leave him behind.

We were planning on bringing the e90, but USAA wants 300 a month for insurance because I still owe on it, and somehow Germany doesn't like that? Idk I'm not upset to move on from it, it made me love BMW and want an old M3 like no other, so no complaints. I just want it gone quick lol.

It's a fairly common assignment, but with the cut backs less and less people get the opportunity. I feel pretty lucky. Also, that intercooler was so jank I actually laughed when I read that. I had to make my own brackets from some old shelving metal to keep the piping lines up straight. Good times.

Yea I hate the bad name thay terrible owners have given to dogs. I absolutely love mine, and so does everyone they meet. We got them both from a shelter, off the side off the road. I refuse to go to a breeder, bit not because I'm too self righteous too, shit just costs to much lol. And I figure saving a dog or 2 every couple of years from the streets isn't such a bad thing. I just wish Europe was as progressive as they all claim to be. Damn hypocrites.

Then again I can't drive an r34 in the "land of the free" so who am I kidding.

Noooooo. That sucks about the dogs. Some of the gentlest, kindest dogs I've met are pits.

Hopefully you've found a safe home for them here.

$300/mo isn't is astronomical as you might think for insurance there. I had a Focus ST and was still paying $250/mo. Hell, even a beater Golf I had as extra was $75/mo and I was 18-24 no accidents or anything.

Baumholder is nice. They have a nice campground there (my parents camp there with with RV a lot). Americans are damn near untouchable in Baumholder. When the BRAC came around in 05 (06?) Baumholder was slated to close but the mayor flew to DC to petition congress to keep it open. Before I left Germany in 08, a soldier got wasted downtown and lit their city hall on fire but the town is so desperate for the American presence they swept it under the rug and didn't do anything legally against the Army or the soldier. You'll like it. If you have issues/trouble/questions just let me know.

Also, funny your dogs name is Rex, that's my Jack Russell's name.
